We had the support from Ralf both in improving our general Agility and our Software Development. His knowledge and insight helped shape both my and in general our team’s development. It was always a pleasure to talk through topics with him and get his insight, help and opinions. I enjoyed working with him and will miss our collaboration.

Ralf supported us in our project for some time and was able to provide valuable impulses on several levels. His technical expertise helped us, for example, to set up a new infrastructure. He used his experience and knowledge to work with the team to achieve the organizational maturity needed to be successful in an agile work environment. Beyond the mentoring program we have established, he developed his colleagues further by preparing the team’s challenges in practical workshops and he pointed out possible solutions. With his arrival we were able to grow incredibly as a team and we look back fondly on our time together. I am sure that he can have such a decisive influence also on other projects and I am grateful for his support.

I had the pleasure of working with Ralf for more than a year at Virtual Minds. He is definitely an expert on topics like clean code, clean architecture, and agile methodologies and consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of these concepts through his work.

What impressed me the most about Ralf was his ability to lead the team by example. He consistently displayed a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for creating high-quality software. He had a way of inspiring the team to follow his lead and strive for excellence in all aspects of our work.

In addition to his technical skills, Ralf also had a knack for clearly communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members. He was always patient and willing to take the time to explain things in a way that everyone could understand, which helped to foster a highly collaborative and inclusive work environment.

I would highly recommend Ralf as a valuable asset to any team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table and has a unique ability to inspire the people around him.

Ralf helped us bring a newly-created team, consisting of members with multiple different backgrounds (Java, PHP, C++), up to speed for a greenfield Java project. The members all had expertise in the product area, but had vastly different expectations towards workflows, architecture, programming approach, and collaboration. He repeatedly brought in and highlighted standard practices such as Clean Code, Hexagonal Architecture, and Test Driven Development to bring the team to adhere to a common set of practices and increased the overall level of expertise. He heavily utilized pair and mob programming to teach and directly apply those practices. He also did individual coaching to help people in specific areas, including programming and soft skills. I am glad that Ralf was part of our project in such a critical phase, bringing in much-needed and long-lasting improvements to the team.

Ralf significantly improved the software development practices of the project, this includes both technical topics as well as agile methodologies. On top of that, he built a foundation which allowed the teams to sustain this positive trajectory and keep improving even after his departure.

Ralf’s way of working is admirable. He asks the correct questions (oftentimes the questions that others are afraid of asking) and encourages others to do so as well. This greatly improved the culture of the engineering team and gave us the courage to experiment further and build on top of the technical knowledge he introduced. This improvement in culture also helped us rethink and improve our Scrum workflow as well as our interaction with our customers.

On a more personal note, Ralf was an awesome senior and taught me a lot. All the pair programming and refactoring sessions were informative and fun.

10/10 would work together again if the opportunity presents itself.

Ralf has a huge knowledge of agile methodologies. He combines this with a tremendous experience level of software design and architecture. The teams increased their skills in these topics – especially because Ralf uses well-shaped learning formats.
For me as a scrum master, it was always helpful to get his feedback and get into conversations with him. His mindful observations helped me to work with the team more effectively. It would be a pleasure to work with Ralf again.
